About Shin Do Kumaté®
The professional sport of Shin Do Kumaté is strictly stand-up striking fight using standard boxing gloves and fought in a boxing ring. The fighting style draws from the art of Muay Thai and allows techniques from a variety of other Martial Arts disciplines. Such as Kyokushin Karate, Tae Kwon Do, Sanshou, Kickboxing and Persian wrestling neck clinch. The Shin Do Kumaté® fighting style allows fighters to execute more strikes and Martial Art techniques than most other professional combat fight sports, thereby appealing to a global pool of highly skilled fighters and fight fan.
Shin Do Kumaté® translates into "The Way of the Fighting Spirit" (The word “Shin” has a powerful spiritual meaning in ancient culture like Higher power). And this exciting fighting system was uniquely designed by Master Mehrdad to take the sport of Muay Thai to a whole new level. All bouts are expertly matched to bring the highest caliber male and female fighters together from around the world. Each bout is typically fast paced and filled with non-stop action from beginning to end, as there are only three 3-minute rounds with 1-minute breaks in between, so the time span permitted to execute is limited and must be taken quickly. Shin Do Kumaté® fighters carry a strong aura as they represent honor, skill, and integrity. There is a very high knockout ratio in Shin Do Kumaté® , as well as TKOs. Most Kumaté® professional fighters have had a lifetime of training in the Martial Arts and an extensive amateur fight career.
The Shin Do Kumaté® fighting system has been described as the most superior stand-up fighting discipline ever introduced to a fighter because of the freedom on hand techniques, the stand up clinch, and some stand up judo/wrestling throws. The fighter can use full boxing skills, all effective Martial Arts kicks, and all skills from Muay Thai. There are very few limitations of what you can do on your feet. In Shin Do Kumaté® there is no ground grappling and these professional Kumaté fighters wear no pads, just 10 oz. boxing gloves. The training and fighting skills involved to fight in a Shin Do Kumaté® goes beyond any training you can imagine and therefore fighter documentaries are found to be highly appealing to the audience and television viewers.
